The Institute for Advanced Study (Princeton, N.J.). Development and Communications. Communications and Public Relations records consist of administrative materials created and accumulated by Communications and Public Relations staff at the Institute of Advanced Study. Materials consist of administrative correspondence, research, and copies of publications and press coverage related to Institute for Advanced Study. These files include information generated for the Institute for Advanced Study's Community of Scholars published volume (and subsequent database) as well as documentation related to lectures, events, and individual scholars.

Conditions Governing Access
Select materials in this collection are subject to the Institute for Advanced Study Archival Policy (1986).
Per the Institute for Advanced Study Archival Policy, Institute records remain under restriction for 30 years from the date of the record’s creation. Additionally, all institutional records related to personnel (including human resources record and/or records related to recommendation and/or appointment to the Institute) remain restricted for the lifetime of both the creator and subject.
Conditions Governing Use
Researchers are welcome to publish, reproduce, and use the Shelby White and Leon Levy Archives Center’s holdings in accordance with U.S. Copyright Law. Under the Fair Use doctrine, users may freely reproduce materials for personal research, teaching, and/or scholarship. Under the same doctrine, users may cite or publish selected passages and/or quotations for comment and criticism. In accordance to U.S. Copyright Law, researchers seeking to reproduce and/or publish materials in the entirety and/or for commercial purposes will require the permission of the copyright holder.
The Institute for Advanced Study holds the copyright to materials generated by Institute employees over the course of their work for the Institute. Where the Institute for Advanced Study holds the copyright, researchers are free to reproduce materials for one-time, non-commercial purposes. For all other cases, researchers are responsible for contacting the Archives Center to request permission at: email@example.com For all materials for which the Institute is not the copyright holder, researchers that choose to pursue publication and/or reproduction are responsible for determining the individual who does hold the copyright and requesting permission directly from that individual. Biographical / Historical
Beginning in 2015, the Institute for Advanced Study Public Affairs office underwent a change in title to become the Communications office. The change took place on July 1, 2015 and was announced by Chief Development Officer Fred Van Sickle who noted that the change served as "recognition of our team’s increased collaborative agenda to communicate the singular work of the Institute and its scholars to a growing community of engaged supporters."

Language of Materials
The Institute for Advanced Study (Princeton, N.J.). Development and Communications. Communications and Public Relations records consist of files created and accumulated by Communications staff at the Institute of Advanced Study. Materials consist of administrative documenting publications and press coverage related to Institute for Advanced Study. Materials date from 1993 to 2016.
These records are arranged into the following sub-groups: Community of Scholars, Artist-in-Residence, Press Coverage and Clippings, Publications and Printed Materials, Administrative Files, Photographs, and Recent Additions.
The Institute for Advanced Study Development and Communications office transferred these records to the Shelby White and Leon Levy Archives Center.
Upon receipt, archivists housed materials into acid-free containers for long term storage and preservations. Archivists arranged materials by subject and described materials according to archival standards. Subsequently, Archivist Caitlin Rizzo combined this collection (formerly Institute for Advanced Study Communications records) with another collection of the same title (Institute for Advanced Study Communicatiosn records, EADID 00033).
